چکیده

The abatement of the pollutants deriving from diesel engines in vehicle sector still represents an interesting scientific and technological challenge due to increasingly limiting regulations. Meeting stringent limits NOx soot emissions requires a catalytic system with great complexity, size units, number as well increased fuel consumption. Thus, after-treatment device for use integrated catalyst technology reduction individual exhaust gas. representative technologies devoted under lean-burn operation conditions are selective (SCR) lean trap (LNT), while removal is mainly performed by filters (DPF). These devices normally used sequence, or combination them has been proposed overcome drawbacks devices. This review summarizes current state strategies. main focus this on combined (i.e., LNT–SCR) simultaneous soot, like SCR-on-Filter (SCRoF), series LNT/DPF SCR/DPF, SCR/DPF hybrid systems.

Research and Development Trends in Combustion and Aftertreatment Systems for Next-Generation HSDI Diesel Engines

Recently, the performance and exhaust emissions of high-speed direct injection (HSDI) diesel engines for passenger cars have been rapidly improved. In these engines, the power and torque densities have reached 50-60 kW/l and 160-170 Nm/l, respectively. In addition, the noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) and exhaust emissions have been decreasing toward a level that is comparable to that of ga...
